Christmas
Prayer Tree : a local initiative for 2007 Karen
Massey of the Auld Cross Keys in Denholm and the
Minister have together had an idea to encourage people
to remember those who are bereaved in the village over
the Christmas Season by placing a Christmas Prayer Tree
in Denholm Church. The tree will be full of stars,
and people are invited to remember their loved ones
by writing their names on to the stars. The tree
is being gifted by the Auld Cross Keys Inn and will
be in Denholm Church from the first Sunday of Advent,
Sunday 2nd December. Please note the first service
at Denholm in the calendar wiil be on Sunday 16th December
at 11.30am. Stars can also be handed to an Elder
at any of the other services at Minto and Bedrule, or
anonymously to the Manse and/or Auld Cross Keys Inn.
Outr
Interim Moderator, Revd. Neil Combe, regularly
visits
parishioners in the Borders General Hospital, those in care,
housebound and anyone else in the community who would like a visit from
him. However, he is minister to five very diverse parishes covering a
substantial area, and therefore
must also rely upon the elders
and church-goers for intimations
of those who would like a visit
from him. If you would like
him to visit - or you know of
someone who would - please get in
touch with your area elder, e-mail
us via the website by clicking here,
or contact Neil directly at Tevit
manse, Buccleuch Road, Hawick. Bear
in mind too that visits may
also be arranged from your
area elder.
