SPECIAL SERVICES and EVENTS

There are two principal newsletters within the united parish: "Parish News", a joint newsletter produced each quarter covering both parishes; and "The Hobkirk & Southdean Informer", published by the local Session and focused on news and events within the original parish of Hobkirk & Southdean.  Both newsletters list dates and times of church services and other events, and also the names and contact details of all who run other organisations within the parish.  In addition to a variety of groups and activities for children there is a small but flourishing Guild which meets on the third Wednesday in the months of October, November, January, February and March; meetings are usually held at Weens Eventide Home so that some of the residents can enjoy the evenings.  Newcomers are always welcome, as they are to the Over-60's Club and the Rural Institute.
